Intermittent heavy rain occurring from time to time over all districts in Kelantan and Terengganu is expected to continue until Tuesday Nov 24.

These conditions may cause floods in low-lying areas near the river banks.

During the heavy rain period, the public is advised to take precaution and follow the authorities’ orders including the evacuation plan when applied.

The department also gave a second category warning on strong north-easterly winds of between 50 and 60kph with waves 4.5m high over the waters off Condore and first category warning of strong north-easterly winds of 40 to 50kph with waves up to 3.5m over the waters off Samui (Kelantan and Terengganu), Reef North, Layang-Layang, Palawan and northern Sabah expected until Sunday Nov 22.

The eastcoast of Peninsular Malaysia is vulnerable to rise in sea level and the condition is expected to begin on Nov 18 until Nov 20.

This condition of strong winds and rough seas is dangerous to all shipping and coastal activities, including fishing, ferry services, and water sporting activities.
