Commonwealth Games 2010: Golden day for Malaysian badminton

NEW DELHI: Datuk Lee Chong Wei won the gold medal in the men's singles badminton at the 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) here today.

He defeated England's Rajiv Ouseph 21-10, 21-8 at the Sri Fort Sports Complex.

On the final day of the Games, Malaysia also won the gold in the men's badminton doubles after Koo Kien Kiat and Tan Boon Hiong defeated English pair James Roberston and Anthony Clark 21-19, 21-14 at the Sri Fort Sports Complex.


Malaysia's won gold for the mixed doubles as well, when Koo Kien Keat and Chin Ee Hui upset top seed Jenny Walkwork and Nathan Robertson of England. Kien Kiat and Ee Hui defeated their rivals 22-20, 21-12 in 36 minutes at the Sri Fort Sports Complex.
