Malaysia launches Multipurpose Rescue Vehicle


KLANG: A vehicle, specially designed to carry out critical rescue missions has been launched.

The locally made Multipurpose Rescue Vehicle (MRV) is the first of its kind to be manufactured in the world.

It can navigate through aftermaths like floods, typhoons and fires.

The vehicle can also be driven up a 45 degree slope on hilly terrain and can also move through muddy, slippery and inundated roads.

Deputy Secretary General Datuk Dr Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) launched the vehicle on behalf of Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.

MRV was manufactured by LWK Automotive Green Technologies (LWK Green) through a RM2.2mil grant given by Mosti.
