Muhammad Safiuddin: Malaysian student tops Kuwaiti exam


KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian student, Muhammad Safiuddin Mohd Soyong. notched first place in the A-Level Religion Test of the 2013 Kuwait General Secondary Assessment Certificate by obtaining 98.18 marks.

Muhammad Safiuddin, 20, received a certificate, a gold medal and consolation prize of 300 Kuwaiti Dinars (RM3,340) from the National Bank of Kuwait, according to the Malaysian Embassy in Kuwait today.

The achievement of the Kota Bharu-born, was announced by Kuwait's Education and Higher Education Minister Nayef Al-Hajraf last Sunday.

Muhammad Safiuddin's achievement was celebrated together with all outstanding studentS in an awardS ceremony held at the Jumeirah Hotel, Kuwait, yesterday. Also present was the Malaysian Ambassador to Kuwait Datuk Adnan Othman.

According to the statement, in Malaysia he had earned 5As for the Primary School Evaluation Test (UPSR) in 2005 and 10As for Religious Lower Secondary Examination (PMRU) in 2007.

Muhammad Safiuddin furthered his studies at the Kuwait Islamic Institute in 2008 on a Kuwait government scholarship.
