KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — A special vehicle registration plate will be introduced soon — GAZA with the usual run of 9,999 numbers.

Previously, there were several other special registration plates like G1M, IM4U and BAMbee.

The GAZA plate will be introduced in conjunction with the Perdana Global Peace Foundation Club  to raise funds to support their humanitarian mission in the Middle East.

Club secretary-general Mohamad Radzilah Abdullah said the club received an endorsement letter from the prime minister on Wednesday.

“In a few day, we will meet the Road Transport Department (RTD) director-general to finalise things,” he told The Malay Mail.

“Although it has yet to be launched, the public is welcome to lock in their favourite numbers through our club.”

Mohamad Radzillah said the club aimed to raise RM4 million from the bidding.

“Once we have received approval from the RTD, the public will have to pay a minimum of RM1,000 for the booking and bidding,” he said.

The concept and bidding system are similar to that for the IM4U plate which was handled by RTD, with the highest bidder securing a number if there is more than one bid.

The bidding is open to anyone eligible to register a vehicle under his or her name and  no exchange of ownership is allowed.

For more information, contact the club at 03-2092 7248 or 0169163544
